Army day : Indian Army unveils new combat uniform
Army Day is being celebrated today on January 15 in the country. Indian Army Day is celebrated today at all Army Command Headquarters amidst strict protocols with increasing Covid-19 cases in the country.

One of the highlights of this year's Army Day celebration is the release of the Indian Army's innovative style combat uniforms. This uniform of digital disruptive type lightweight clothing is designed for both male and female staff alike, as the top shirt is not tucked-in and has to be worn with a t-shirt inside.
Army Day is commemorated on the day when Field Marshal KM Kariyappa took over as the first Indian commander-in-chief of the Indian Army. Field Marshal KM Karippa assumed office as the first Indian officer after General Sir Francis Butcher, the last British commander-in-chief of India on January 15, 1949.
